Good morning!
A quick announcement.
Over the next few weeks, I’m going to experiment with adding a Jobs section to Friday’s email. Inkcap focuses on UK nature, ecology and conservation – and so will the jobs that I feature in the newsletter.
I think this is something that could be valuable, particularly as many people have lost their jobs in the wake of the pandemic. I also hope that placing job adverts could provide some small additional income for Inkcap – something that will be vital in allowing me to continue writing it.
I need your help with this. I know many of you work at environmental organisations. If you could forward this email to whoever is in charge of hiring people, that would be enormously helpful.
For more information, or to register your interest, reply to this email or email editor@inkcap.co.uk.
I’d also like to make a personal plea for you to sign up as a paid subscriber to Inkcap.
I want to be transparent about this. My aim is to keep all content free for as long as possible, but for that to happen, I need to make a small income. I am a freelance journalist, and writing Inkcap takes me at least three days per week.
I don’t like to ask – and I certainly don’t like to go on about it – but if you are in a position where you could throw a few pounds towards Inkcap each month, it would make a huge difference.
And I will try to make it worth your while! The more people sign up, the more time I can dedicate to reporting on some of the most crucial issues facing the UK today.
Finally: thank you so much to everyone who has supported Inkcap so far.
Thank you to everyone who has already signed up voluntarily or made a donation, to those who have reached out with kind and encouraging words, and to everyone who has shared Inkcap articles and helped spread the word.
I couldn’t do this without you!
Sophie
